Since coming to Hida in 2012, we have started a project to survey the actual conditions of 8,444 houses in the area and to promote the reutilization of vacant houses and old folk houses. This activity led to our encounter with Suehiro. Over 50 years ago, it became a place where local carpenters honed their skills, and even now, the feeling of wonder towards this mansion, cherished as a hidden heritage, remains unchanged.
Currently, we operate SUKIYA-zukuri Suehiro as an inn limited to one group per day. Along with “local materials, skills, people, and their thoughts” that reside in Suehiro, we design the facility and the experience of staying there. As a local resident myself, I would like to share the information and encounters unique to Hida. We hope to assist in creating a stay in Hida Furukawa that is unlike any other, yet somehow nostalgic.
2012年に飛騨に来手から、地域内の8,444棟の家屋の実態調査および空き家や古民家の再活用に向けた事業づくりをスタートさせました。その活動がSuehiroとの出会いとなりました。50年余り前に地元の大工の技術を磨く場となり、現在もなお隠れた遺産として愛されているこの屋敷に感じた感動が今もなお変わりません。
現在は、1日1組様限定の宿としてSUKIYA-zukuri Suehiroを運営しております。Suerhiroにやどった「地元の素材、技術、人、その思い」と共に、施設とそこでの滞在体験を設計しております。私自身、地域で暮らす住民だからこそ持っている飛騨の情報や出会いをお伝えしたく思っています。これまでにないような、しかし何だか懐かしい飛騨古川の滞在のお役に立ちたいと願っています。
